How come those with the permenant jobs have no repucussions for doing them badly?

Whilst those whose lives are dysrupted just have to suck it up and move on?

All I got from my department was a "I'm sorry about the news", and that as when I just happened to pass one person in the street.

No advocates, nobody to fight to see where things went wrong.
