TIL: the #EPL (English Premier League, Men's Pro Football) has been getting less competitive over its 32 years.

Graph shows the arithmetic difference in final points between the teams that finish top and bottom.

Thus, there's a greater different in performance quality over the years.

Here's a collection of quotes from papers including from my PI and examiners showing hypotheses/predictions at the end of introductions.

But mine weren't sufficient despite all being based on previous work.

A good starter for where I am academically is this post I shared in the summer.

Suffice to say, it's been turbulent.

Since then has been positive but also very bittersweet. I'm still doing hourly teaching which is rewarding BUT tarnished owing to the PhD decision.
