Also you seem very sure that everyone who disagrees with your incredibly narrow view of the role of government is "immature" bsky.app/profile/robe...

What does "... rich people who will pay for it" mean if you don't think taxes pay for spending. What are they paying for?

Evidence against this is that our debt to gdp is one of the lowest in the G7 and that countries like Japan have more than twice the debt to gdp as us.

It's just not an urgent problem vs our poor infrastructure, housing, and health (all of which requires a lot of investment to fix)

And the government can get involved in production if it wants to. There's a world where all the basics for life are guaranteed because they are produced by government run industries which do not go on strike when their projected short term returns dip below a certain level

There are constraints on spending, but those constraints have little to do with how much tax is taken and much more to do with inflation indicators (and inflation itself can be addressed because the government can control prices if it wants to)

The graph I posted shows that the small number of richest people hold more wealth than the middle and lower percentiles *because they are so wealthy*.

And even if you couldn't tax wealth, govt spending and taxes do not need to balance in the short term.

I'm not the one who thinks government spending is the same as a household budget (or who for some reason seems to think there isn't massive wealth inequality that grows each year..?)
