A message to the media: stop calling it a "healthcare crisis." Call it the "Republican healthcare crisis." Stop calling it an "immigration debate." Call it "Republican terror and violence." Be accurate. #FundHealthcareStopICE

It's as if they don't know who owns the company (Peter Thiel) and what he publically acknowledges he stands for. "Freedom & democracy are incompatible." Or, his view that women being able to vote precipitated what he views as 'the decline of America'. They need to pay a lot more attention.
It’s always funny when palantir employees discover that they work at palantir
Palantir employees are pressing company leadership over its work for ICE in internal company Slacks obtained by @wired.com

"In my opinion ICE are the bad guys. I am not proud that the company I enjoy so much working for is part of this."

They were always lying hypocrites. Always.
I’m trying to understand Republicans’ latest interpretation of the 2nd Amendment. You can now be executed by federal agents if you possess a firearm? Even after you are disarmed? I’m just trying to keep your position straight on this “shall not be infringed” stuff.

We raised the alarm at 5 days. Now it’s 15 days of digital blackout in Iran.

For over two weeks, severe internet restrictions have cut journalists and the public off during nationwide protests.
We call on Iranian authorities to immediately restore full and stable internet access

Bipartisan is a good thing when we’re talking about something like an infrastructure bill. But more funding for ICE abuse with our tax dollars shouldn’t have a single Democrat’s name on it.

Thank you, @andycraig.bsky.social. The sadism and brutality and state-sponsored terror and murder we're seeing in Minneapolis now has its roots in an actual set of ideas harbored by Stephen Miller, which we tried to dig deeply into here:
Good stuff from @gregsargent.bsky.social.

I think we tend to overemphasize, esp. w/ Trump's mush-brain at the top, that their fascism is a kind of purely id-driven emotional impulse. But it's a real ideology w/ real theorists and tenets. Miller isn't an evil genius, but he has a real evil worldview

When serving in Moscow, and travelling extensively to all 10 secret nuclear cities, I heard countless first-hand accounts of the deliberate cruelty and callous indifference to life that characterized the former Soviet Union.

At that time, I never guessed that the USA would adopt the Soviet model.

This witness to Alex Pretti's murder not only refutes the governmen't story, but says she is afraid to go home because federal agents might arrest her. This is what it feels like to live under state terror.

Yet again, agree 100% w @billkristolbulwark.bsky.social
Senate Dems needn’t come to agreement on everything right now. That’s a path to the lowest common denominator. They simply have to agree to filibuster DHS approps. As to which of a host of anti-brutality and anti-authoritarian proposals to advance, let a thousand flowers bloom.

I realize from comments that many, maybe most, don’t know that “who’s paying for it?” has always meant in rightwing speech “the Jews.” Not those they deem “good Jews,” like Miller, but “the Jews” who are at heart of Great Replacement Theory since it was called Protocols of Elders of Zion.
James O'Keefe says he's never seen anything so organized as the anti-ICE movement, observers--he seems to think this term is code--everywhere he goes. Who is paying for it??? he demands to know. It's like he can't even imagine people caring for one another.

It is important to read writers like M. Gessen. They teach Americans what many are still having trouble grasping.

This is not just an unhinged president and untrained agency. Not “bad politics.” Not random.

It is a systemic approach followed by authoritarians the world over as they grasp power.

The term martyr means “witness.” The man was murdered for bearing witness, literally bearing it, not arms but a camera. Murdered for seeing.

Russia loves Trump’s message on Greenland, as Putin has openly said. It is worth asking whether this was a Russian idea. It certainly divides and could destroy NATO, and it distracts from Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
