Our government in Australia used to provide all of these as nationalised services. They’ve all been sold off and we are so much worse off.

It’s fair to say I was there more recently, and it was when the undergraduate degrees had been introduced and the department renamed as Science and Technology Studies. I was always interested in the previous incarnations of the department and grateful it was saved by Sir Derek Roberts.

If the government would concentrate on alleviating poverty and making life affordable again, a lot of other problems would go away, including the kind of impotent rage that One Nation exploits.

I don’t know. I lurch between wishing this government would do more and being horrified by some of what they ARE doing. What we WANTED was a traditional Labor government, not whatever the hell neoliberal, dehumanised 🐂💩 this is. #auspol
