This is how I read it too!! Their "redemption" is in each other, not going to heaven. Their love and care for the other sets them free from the weight of their sins/choices that lead them to where they are now.

Many say this is foreshadowing for Angel's redemption, and maybe. But I prefer the interpretation that Husk's love will set Angel free. And Angel's love will do the same for Husk. They are one
