My OH (born pre April 1970 national measles vaccine programme in UK) got measles in 2017 and has caught everything going since then... He’s ok but imagine the developmental concerns if he was a child!

Excuse me butting in but we have heavy clay and stepping stones really are good.
We also dug a trench and filled it with big gravel. The spaces between the gravel fill with rain water under the lawn - a lot of work but it does mean the top of the grass is less soggy.

Our (long deceased) elderly Arthur cat who had the same issue, would let me file his front claws with a nail file, but not his rear-paw claws.
