I want everyone to have a functioning, affordable postal service, whether or not they voted for it, among other safe and functional public services. I don't understand how that's cutting my nose off to spite my neighbor's face.

Everyone in Idaho voted for it? Every single voter? Everyone deserves it? Noncitizens deserve it? Minors deserve it? People whose right to vote has been taken away deserve it?

I also grew up in a rural community. Some of the people around me were very conservative; some were very liberal. All of them deserved a functioning government.

You know what your parents' neighbors are like. You know a sampling of people from one rural community. You are not entitled to say "they don't matter" or that they shouldn't receive government services because of their political beliefs.

You are making assumptions about the political beliefs of people based entirely on where they live and deciding that they do not deserve government services because of it. Do better.
