Fuck it, every business is a worker-owned co-op now. You wanna buy a company? Better convince the EMPLOYEES that's a good move for them. Need startup investment? Get loans, PAY THEM BACK and then never have shareholders again.

Worthy thoughts. The fandom certainly does fill that niche. A lot of people don't realize that Nietzsche said "God is dead" not with triumph, but with fear. He was worried about this exact thing, that the church was waning as a community support organization and nothing was there to replace it.
I've been thinking about the role the furry community plays in people's lives. For a lot of people, it functions as an extended family and fills some of the role church used to play vis-a-vis providing community, especially since so many millennial queers in particular have a religious trauma.
