There's a pt when nationalism/regionalism is illogical, given all these groups the world would look like the Holy Roman Empire or Pre unification Italy. Central govts should still hearken unto less advantaged peoples or regions.

The wisest course of action to deal w migrants/asylum seekers is this: invest in their countries so they won't be compelled to flee. Now I'm not anti-immigration, welcome them still when they come. Make it easier to come and to stay. I'm probably canceled for this post.

Starfleet is a very fucked up military, it appears that the vast majority of personnel are commissioned, and enlisted personnel can be buddies w officers. A real life O'Brien wouldn't probably hang out w a real life Bashir. 'Lower Decks' and LD the "nobodies" are still OFFICERS!
