4/5. Among our discoveries, we uncovered how long-term exposure to pharmaceutical pollution reduces behavioural variation among individuals and drives complex tradeoffs between phenotypic traits.

Since their establishment nine years ago, fish from the mesocosm populations have been used in multiple experiments led by numerous postdocs and research students, who have published their discoveries and presented their award-winning findings at conferences both nationally and internationally.

2/5. The project began all the way back in 2016 with a trip up to Townsville in North Queensland to collect the thousands of guppies needed to establish our mesocosms back at Monash University, Melbourne.
