Had a lovely morning at the Victorian Carnivorous Plant Society annual show with PhD students Jack Manera and Jessica Zhou. We spent most of our time loitering at the sales tables deciding what plants to buy.

Saddened to learn of the passing of Prof Kai Lindström (Åbo Akademi, Finland). Kai was a fantastic scientist, colleague, supervisor and mentor. Kai was smart and kind and charismatic. A real charmer, he had the most cheeky grin. He will be deeply missed. 💔

This shark took form in Aurukun, spent ten years in my living room in Melbourne and has now finally found its rightful home in Canberra among other First Nations masterpieces in the collection of the National Gallery of Australia. 🥰

Thank you @austevolsoc.bsky.social and @simone66b.bsky.social for hosting an amazing #AES2025 conference. Great to catch up with colleagues and be inspired by evolution research, especially from the ECRs. Brisbane this week was also the perfect escape from the dreary weather back south 🙏
