What looks like a mouse is not one btw, it's a game pad disingenuously shaped like a mouse. 😅

It was marketed as a children's educational toy (the German model has"lern-computer" on the box).

There are a couple educational games which require the laptop model, but I think only 2 have been dumped so far. They can be run in the emulator for it (SuperJunior SameDuck)

I think the limitation, by the way, was something like: they made a lookup table for leap year related calculations and only extended it so far into the future.

Loved your music in it and how well it fit with / added to the game's style.

Will be cool to see how far it's come!

Also a prompt to update this little list of compo games that got published. Not sure I've posted about it before.

A little test build just in case... 😉

🤯

Maybe there should be an exclusive ROM build with a 1K club trophy splash screen... 🤔😄

Glad to be of service, love seeing it in the wild 🫡

Sounds like someone should make an SRAM copy/load ROM patch :)

Not sure whether the average user would, but it is apparently worthwhile enough that both Mastodon and Twitter support it for 2FA.

For accounts that have a higher risk profile it's definitely a way better option than just saying "turn on email code 2FA" and hoping for the best.

Hope you consider FIDO/WebAuthn 2FA support (such as Yubikeys) which are wayyyy more resistant to phishing due to being domain locking by the browser unlike TOTP, Email, or any other temporary 2FA codes which people can be socially engineered to divulge to attackers.

Email 2FA won't fix the problem

That's not Analogue's account, they aren't on bsky.

I see, it's emulator based functionality and the faux registers are placed into echo RAM.

What is the mouse interaction at 0:25? Some kind of emulated pass-through, or an SGB feature?

Even the Game Boy doesn't read all the bits at once. It reads two sets of 4 bits separately (though directly from a register- not via serial shift on a wire as SNES, etc). And there is some intentional delay for the inputs to settle. But as Upsilandre says, the timing is very fast.

After your last thread I wrote a small gameboy program (inspired by "Telling LYs" by @pineight.com ) to make a button press scanline timing histogram.

My understanding is some emulators may inject entropy into button press timing since that may be used for RNG seeding.

btw- I am with you in spirit. I've tried to make the case for unsweetened ice cream to people. It doesn't go over well. 😂

Unfortunately, less-sweet is just decidedly unpopular.

☝️Can vouch for this - a crisp implementation with lots of options
