Occasional manic enjoyer of movies, fantasy novels, anime, MtG.
Great sequel to the original. It's not an evolution of the formula as much as a bigger version of the original, but I'm very down for that.
I don't like the story as much as the original, but the art, music, and gameplay are better. Really like the new MP and tarot system.

Very good game, really enjoy the movement, the challenging bosses, the various tools. Really great soundtrack, especially love "Lace" and "Choral Chambers".
I loved the first Hollow Knight, and this one is also great in a different way.

I feel similar about this as I did about TotK and Echoes of Wisdom: Cool mechanics, but the game built around those mechanics is just ok.
Good production values, fun to mess with. Really boring characters and story. Probably don't buy a switch 2 for this.

14 has been pretty alright though, as a fun excuse to chat with friends and goof off. I'm a little mixed on the 7 remakes, but they're way better than 13.

Very good production, really like the soundtrack (why is it not on nintendo's weird soundtrack app), the environments, the sound design.
I think they went a little too far with the "road trip" theme, I don't really like the drive between tracks or the 1 lap races.

Pretty cool puzzle game for making you feel very smart and very stupid. Kinda need a high tolerance for wandering around aimlessly, which was a struggle for me.
Very unique, though, and has a pronounced style and vision.

Mixed feelings. I like how they brought a lot of the locations to life. I like a lot of the character moments. The soundtrack is great.
Could not care less about the open world. Not loving the weird meta-narrative changes, but idk maybe part 3 will stick the landing.

Should be number one, but I'll accept a loss to the main character and the thirst magnets.
What's not to love?
- Fights the oligarchy
- Single dad to a kid that ain't even his
- Messed up in the past but constantly trying to make up for it

One of the best kirby games in a long time! Very fun to co-op with my 4-year-old too if you're looking for that kind of thing.
Seems like it has a decent post game as well?

Listen Nintendo, if you need a cheap PR win to offset the switch 2 prices, I got an idea for ya...

I like the art in this game. Did not really vibe with the story or the puzzles. The combat had moments of greatness, but some pretty bad boss fights and lots of same-y combat encounters.
I get what people like about it, but it kinda missed for me.

Very neat idea for a game - kind of a Myst rogue-lite with lots of layers of puzzles.
Not sure I'm gonna try to solve the post-game - putting together the house feels a bit pointless once you don't have a goal and you're just trying to find some arbitrary combination.

Barret is a pretty recent addition, really liked him in the remake. Also feeling somewhat more sympathetic towards his... ideals, and bias for "action", recently.

A historical curiosity that is absolute ass to play. The enemies die with 3 hadoukens, but the controls do not feel right.
At least the backgrounds and characters look cool, and it did help define the fighting game genre so it gets legacy points.

Cool to see the origins of Cody, Guy, Hagar, Poison, Rolento, etc.
Normally quarter muncher arcade games don't translate well to modern times, but *if* you're co-op'ing with a 4-year-old, the unlimited credits is nice! Little dude had a blast beating up bad guys with me

Replaying a classic during meetings. Weird how a mid platformer and a mid city builder somehow combine into a great experience.
Really wish there was more in this genre. Never found anything that gets it quite right.

The most lovably stupid video game. The video game equivalent of Birdemic. If you've never sat down with a friend and a few drinks and RE5, you're fucking up.
Gotta love how devious mastermind Wesker is defeated by Himbo Chris and the power of "Partner".
