... that of the PCF under Robert Hue?
All this, keeping in mind that comparaison n'est pas raison. 2/2

As much as I'd like to simply direct infinite hatred at the RN and their kind there is a genuine discussion to be had here. Are we witnessing a genuine de-radicalization not unlike that of the early "eurocommunists". Is Meloni a right-wing Berlinguer? Did the RN/FN suffer a mutation not unlike... 1/

It's a lost battle at this point. Wikipedia says she's a historian in 38 languages.

... radical politics at some point in his life and, in any case, he was never an ideologue. We'll see where this is going. 3/3

... some very muddy waters. Also noteworthy he is from Fagaras a town where the memory of Ogoranu (anti-communist guerilla fighter and committed fascist) remains very strong. Dan hinted at the "Fagaras resistance" when he blocked the Vexler law.
That said I believe he probably moved away from... 2/

It's more complicated. In 2000 Dan published an article in Dilema which, imo, showed some very radical right sympathies. His recent actions, repeatedly blocking the Vexler law which reinforces bans on fascist organizations and symbols shows that he comes from... 1/

I love the play but to be honest the video made me want to puke. Baconschi speaking up against the rhinoceroses?!
"When love becomes sin etc etc" and the video features Baconschi who was publishing stuff with Lavric, Neamtu, Tarziu and co back in 2018! Give me a break!

My health. Physical and mental. The former prevents for from being "productive" and my second is impacted by twitter and facebook environments in a very negative way. I'm planning to reduce online time significantly.

I wasn't planning to, to be honest. I am recovering some of the stuff which I may one day use for future threads...

And that's pretty much it. Like I said: a collection of newspaper clippings.
I keep reminding myself I promised a thread on the trial opposing priest Boldeanu and the LICA (future LICRA) with French legal legend Robert Badinter pleading for the latter (and losing). Someday. 18/18

These are from France soir↙️ and Le Populaire (Paris)↘️. Both dated April 20, 1951. I don't have a better resolution for them but they basically report that Iovanovici was getting deported. The church would remain in the hand of Iron Guard-affiliated clergy for decades. 17/

Qui? (leisure-magazine) Jan 29, 1951. More stuff on the beards. This is actually funny. 16/

Le Figaro (right) Jan 16 1951. The journalist can't help commenting on the beards of the Romanian priests involved in the brawl. Iovanovici's prejudice is recognized. "Radek Gratian" is a rendition of "Radu Grațian". 15/

New York Herald Tribune (Europe) Sept 14, 1949. Interesting because it alludes to the French law governing the association of worshipers. Explaining the details would require a long discussion which I'll skip at this point. 14/
