…libels perpetrated against Jews across history?
(I am not quite clear what your post is saying but it seems to be saying this. I don’t know how else to interpret it. Please correct me if I have misunderstood)

…their victimhood -also of unimaginable scale & cruelty- gives them a get-out-of-jail free card to commit crimes against humanity, war crimes, & now a genocide (according to a growing range of NGOs & legal bodies)
Are you saying none of this is true but merely an extension of the lies and ….

Israel & many Israelis, (of course not all) appear to think this history of biases gives it/them carte blanche to commit horrific crimes against the Palestinian population of the Levant
Other victims of history (eg Indigenous N & S Americans, African slave diaspora) don’t do this, don’t claim….

We’ll have to agree to disagree

Lots of people do

I have never seen any of his plays, to my shame
Something to be remedied!
(Seen some of the films he wrote screenplays for but that’s doesn’t count!)

A child’s life is as valuable as the politician’s who votes them in and out of poverty. Tom Stoppard RIP.
Ethan Hawke on Instagram: "Paying homage to the passing of Sir Tom Stoppard, one of the greatest human beings I’ve ever met."
In this heartfelt tribute, Levon and Ethan Hawke celebrate the life and work of Sir Tom Stoppard, one of the greatest playwrights of all time. They share personal anecdotes and reflect on the themes o...

We need change. Otherwise nothing waits for us except the boot on the face forever
November 30, 2025 at 1:50 PM
Also the kind of leadership that has flourished since neoliberalism took hold in the ‘80s - a dictatorial macho style of leadership (in which psychopaths & malignant narcissists excel) - is causing worse class, gender & racial disadvantage, & increasingly authoritarian governments everywhere
November 30, 2025 at 1:50 PM
But we have learned old fashioned “party political leaders” let us down badly.
In their responses to climate change, arms trade, illegal wars, genocide, human rights, inequality, & so on.
I don’t know what are workable alternatives but I’m glad people are exploring them
Cynics change nothing

Perhaps read the article before replying
It is pretty complicated actually

I presume because of this sarcastic and rather silly post 👇🏻
Which I genuinely though was a bot
Then I looked at your profile and found to my amazement it wasn’t
You think Nigel Farage is concerned for the fate of Palestinians?

No.
I think when Farage uses the term “Israel lobby” he means “world Jewry lobby”
That ought to have been obvious to you in what I said above. I don’t know how to say it more clearly

Supporters of the rapture are not prominent in the EDL!
Interesting perspective on the philosemitism/antisemitism dimension here - the good Jews/bad Jews division
(I don’t agree with all of it
Eg I don’t object to illegal settlers because they are “bad Jews”, but because of the bad things they do)
When antisemitism goes hand in hand with philosemitism | Keith Kahn-Harris
Keith Kahn-Harris: Both left and right are guilty of invoking the idea of 'good Jews' and 'bad Jews'. All Jews should refuse to play along

The right’s philosemitism is expressed through their elevation of Israel, as a Jewish state, above all others.

The religious right’s support for Israel is of course something entirely separate, rooted as it is in a literal biblical interpretation of “the rapture”
It is fundamentally antisemitic
November 30, 2025 at 1:22 PM
…. It is conflating Israel with all Jewry, which is itself antisemitism.
It seems important to me the language we use when we discuss antisemitism needs to be precise and clear.
This isn’t merely semantics.
November 30, 2025 at 1:06 PM
I don’t agree.
Just because Farage intends to be antisemitic when he employs the term “Israel lobby” does not make the phrase “Israel lobby” antisemitic.
Whereas conflating“Jewish lobby” with “Israel lobby”, whether it is done by Farage or someone criticising him, seems extremely problematic to me….

Objecting to the wording of a post critiquing Farage is not defending Farage
It’s not defending Farage.
I was responding to a post which implied the two phrases add up to much the same thing
Farage is a Nazi sympathiser
I’ve just been canvassing in the Caerphillyby election to keep Reform out of the Welsh Senedd.
What have you done beyond misconstruing my posts?

Or at least you might as well be with that logic!
No I don’t: Farage doesn’t care about Palestinians
In fact he is a strong supporter of Israel despite being a lifelong antisemite
Like many on the UK & US right philosemitism & antisemitism coexist in him
(Eg the EDL flying Israeli flags )
