Just finished Lara's book. As well as a diary of finds it acts as an almanack of (mostly) London history. Inspired me to go virtual mudlarking. Had a look at Cumberland Wharf - and may have 'found' a ring! Google link: www.google.com/maps/@51.502...
Anyone else spotted anything on virtual mudlark?

I have a number of categories I use, which helps define what I keep, but also to organise them. If you are discarding items, think about whether there is information on them that can help other families with their research.

We all have that dread, when hunting for our ancestors, that they may have changed their name. I was looking for one of mine, Frances Scott and came across this newspaper article. Thankfully, not related to my ancestor - but fancy following up 22 aliases!

My interest in Gallipoli is based around my Grandfather, Frederick William Henry Rees, who served with the New Zealand Field Artillery at Gallipoli and then the Somme. He survived both and returned to the UK after the war and joined the London Fire Brigade - and worked through the Blitz!
