It's bad for those who refuse due to spite or laziness. It's less serious for those who were poorly catechized or connect it to some sort of abuse. In the latter cases, others carry the responsibility.
(Also I'm probably a sucker but I don't think many are doomed. Just lots of time in purgatory.)

I agree! But she doesn't want the kids to be bored and miss out on family time/Christmas traditions. But I think one peaceful and chill Christmas with the newborn sounds great!

My sis and BIL aren't necessarily anti-vax. They are just selfish and don't really care. But yeah at this point we are basically going to keep this kid at home until flu season is over since he can't get the flu shot until 6 months. Not even Mass unfortunately. Better safe than planning a funeral.

Will we stay here at the house and see no family this Christmas or will we drive 5 hours away with a newborn to my in-laws where all of them are willing to get the flu shot but my wife's brother will start constant arguments and call her a f*cking b*tch? We'll see!
