All else aside, I agree with @galvinalmanza.bsky.social about these two points:
Thoughts on it:
1. He should, and now I would say must, pardon more people than just his kid
2. If you don't like people using the powers of their office to seemingly pursue personal goals boy are the next 4 years going to be a ride for you
