Christopher Luxon has set the bar for ministerial conduct so low Ministers have to sack themselves. Andrew Bayly should’ve been gone months ago. After finding out about the latest allegation on Wednesday, the PM waited days for him to resign when he should’ve been sacked asap.

David Seymour wants to make it easier to sell our assets, hocking NZ off to the highest bidder…and he wonders why I don’t agree with him. Investing in NZ is a privilege, let’s keep it that way!

This National/ACT government are working from the same old neoliberal playbook, defund public services, run them down, then use that as an excuse to privatize them. It’s based on ideology and the people who pay the true price are everyday Kiwis.

Kiwis are delivering their verdict on this government with their feet - 125,000 gave up and left last year. That’s a person heading for the departure lounge every 4 minutes. The National/ACT agenda of slashing and privatizing will only drive more away.

Maintaining government investment in the building of social housing is a productive use of taxpayer’s money. Instead we get tax breaks for tobacco companies and interest deductibility reinstated for all landlords…not just the new builds.
It's been a day in NZ politics.
A short and probably incomplete list:
1) the govt has canned 60% of kianga ora's housing projects. That's 1019 no longer being built.

Kāinga Ora axes 60% of social housing projects planned for 2025
The developments the agency have put on ice would have provided 1019 homes.

NZ’s economy wasn’t in recession before the election. In the past 6 months the economy has dropped faster than any time since 1991 (excluding COVID). This is what the politics of austerity does. Nicola Willis and Christopher Luxon are clearly making things worse not better!

New taxes (just won’t say what they are) and can’t remember the range provided by Tsy for Climate Commitments. You’d think given the fiscal cost MoF would be over her numbers.
A fiery hearing on the Government Financial Statements, characterised by time filling verbiage from the Minister of Finance, and the revelation she doesn’t understand the climate commitments this government has, or hasn’t, made and how that affects the financial statements she signed off. #nzpol

Staff told RNZ they were shocked, some were crying, and they say patients would suffer if the team, who make beds, tidy wards and replenish supplies, were gone.
