sorry, but the Founding Fathers' original intent for the 2nd Amendment was always *just* to do school shootings

It is legal to defend yourself with a weapon when the police unlawfully assault and batter you.
You could actually structure your moral code around the idea that law enforcement doesn't exist to execute people. You don't have to create perfect victim narratives, you can just refuse to accept that the state gets to kill people.

Amazing that I can handle someone trying to kick and punch me, but not a contact lense and flashing lights in my eyes.

My duality is that I went to two private Christian universities/colleges on opposite ends of the political spectrum and both of them begin with the letter “B.”

Today was very stressful.

As a Tenant Defense Attorney: my role is keeping my clients from being homeless, but also to make it prohibitively expensive for the landlord to evict.

Which is why you’ll never catch me cheerleading private “affordable housing”/LIHTC development when shit like AMI still prices out people.

In America, someone will see someone getting relentlessly abused, beaten, and/or killed, and some bozo will say “we need to look at the full context before coming to any judgments.”

Man CBS really sucks now.

Bright idea is that if you’re gonna be making administrative regulations that affect someone’s legal rights, you should make those regulations public and not stuff them in a letter that isn’t accessible to the general public.

Look at these Venezuelans (who were evil 5 seconds ago) in America celebrating the kidnapping (which was good) of Maduro (who is bad because he's a dictator) that we will nevertheless have to rendition to Bukele (who is good because he's a dictator) in El Salvador.
January 4, 2026 at 10:15 PM
All this discourse about “ask a Venezuelan” but Venezuelans, expats or otherwise, feelings about Maduro should not be the determining factor of when the United States Military should be dropping bombs and destabilizing the world.

Irrelevant-ass metric, 80 people died. Fuck off.

It's bad for the US to conceive of its foreign relations as global criminal law with Washington as sheriff and prosecutor. It was bad when VP Harris went to Munich Security Conference and read a prosecutors brief against Putin and its worse that this crew has abducted a foreign head of state
STEPHANOPOULOS: Why wasn't congressional authorization necessary?

RUBIO: It wasn't necessary because this was not an invasion. We didn't occupy a country. This was an arrest operation.

Ok I had not considered that Trump would just say we were occupying Venezuela. Really chops the legs out from under the sycophants that immediately ran out to defend an “arrest”

Naked Imperialism, lawless president.

World institutions are incapable of reigning in The United States, the United States constitution has been largely rendered superfluous, and domestic institutions are either unwilling or unable to reign in the president.

Truly dark days.

People covering the newly unsealed pretrial ruling in the criminal case against Kilmar Ábrego García are largely missing the biggest revelation in it:

That the Trump administration closed the criminal inquiry over the Tennessee traffic stop three days BEFORE a federal judge ordered him returned.

This episode is great b/c it situates the sexual division of labor in “historical” terms (the subjugation of women in the past) that parallels w/ sex discrimination in modern workplaces (using historical accuracy as a veneer for it) & wraps it all up w/ the sex dynamics in Hank and Peggy’s marriage.
I love the King of The Hill episode where Peggy unionizes the renaissance fair.

Hadn’t trained in two weeks, went back to my old Nashville gym the past two days fully expecting the cardio to kick my ass.

It did not, the California conditioning held up. Hell yeah.

There’s a guy who rides around LA on an e-bike filming homeless people and anytime he gets near one he acts like he almost got stabbed.

Guy needs to calm down.
