Building technology for good. I believe in community, collaboration, innovation, and not taking ourselves too seriously. Cats, books, power, philosophy and occasionally memes. I still think punching nazis is a good idea.

I would love to see something on who the different factions in current Syria are, and which external entities are supporting them. What is the role of Turkey, USA, Iran, Israel and Russia? What kind of power struggle can we expect in the future?

Ivan puts a drone in the back of his Toyota, drives to a hill near the airport, launches his drone. Later lands, packs up and drives away. Hard to trace unless you have gear nearby.

The article mentions them as being small. This makes it likely they are lauched by a person on the ground close to the location in question. if they are quadcopter style drones (which is likely), they will have short range. We have seen the same in Norway a lot lately.

@martinsfp.bsky.social made me aware that this is a fake account and a fake post. I will delete it to avoid misinforming anyone.

Ah! Thanks!! 🌼 What is the kosher way of dealing with that? Delete the post to avoid misinformation, or leave a comment that is only seen by a few?

Perhaps hou cannot technically shut down the protocol, but if you buy and remove the platform and the frontend, you are back at the stage where Mastodon is: A good underlying tech solution without the smooth front end and marketing and business accumen that enda up making it popular. Same result.
