He/They

Humans shouldn't be dying for the convenience of drivers.
Nothing quite like biking to a park that I've wanted to visit for years... Only to find no bikes are allowed and there are no bike racks, only a chain link fence. I'm not locking my Ebike to something you can cut through with a pair of pliers.

Do better, Esquimalt.

Not that is a sidewalk. Not parking. You have a driveway for parking. Not the sidewalk. Side. Walk. Jesus fucking Christ.

Today we rode downtown to check out the Gingerbread House display at the Grand Pacific downtown. While I enjoyed the gingerbread houses, the only photo I took was of the hilariously bike rack at the hotel. Not attacked to the ground, neither my cargo bike nor partner's conventional fit. #yyjbike

You got short term memory issues bub?
November 26, 2025 at 3:31 AM
Yes thank you for funneling pedestrians into the bike lane for these four feet in particular so you can park your roller compactor on that specific patch of concrete. Very cool.

Here's Calgary's usage scheme lmao. Needle is the least introspective urbanist user I've encountered, refuses to believe that anyone could possibly use words and ideas differently than them.

My brother in Christ in Calgary they use Trail for LITERAL CAR HIGHWAYS.
November 22, 2025 at 4:31 PM
Trails have been used as a corridor for transportation for an order of magnitude longer than roads. Treating trails as recreational corridors is car centric itself - something I would think that Needle would have some awareness of. That's like demanding we call bikes "cars" because bikes are toys.

The train one is just crud slop but isn't that offensive. Just crap.

But this? Can you imagine being a professional designer and thinking THIS was appropriate for a prestige publication?

Today I found a very short but exceptionally whimsical steep euro-feeling bike route that isn't officially a bike route. Doing research for a project I abandoned years ago but I've decided I'm going to pursue. Lots of bike riding required.

So there is bad driving.

And then there is whatever this is. Like honestly, skill points for doing this at high speed and without hitting the curb.

Would be a lot more cool if it wasn't illegal. @victoria.ca the road closure needs to be WAY more explicit.

(1) Haven't ridden an acoustic bike in 5 years.
(2) Have never worn Lycra or spandex.
(3) I'm thirty.
(4) I ride a fucking cargo bike with a dog in the front.

Some carbrains SERIOUSLY do no differentiate between road cyclists and fietsers and it really shows.

Rode 50km today on rambling trails, enjoyed everything from paved separated AAA car-free routes to bramble-mired shoulderless roads.

What I com away with is the appreciation for just how good we have it in @saanichbc.bsky.social and @victoria.ca

Checked out @saanichbc.bsky.social great new infrastructure that is about 85% finished at Cadboro Bay/UVIC! This is one of the most cohesive and least flawed (not unflawed) projects in the Victoria core area. There are issues but they are put weight by wins here, finally!

Ah yes, the best way to solve all the problems caused by cars is more cars.

Tire particulates? Consumerism? Massive human casualties? Obscenely massive highways? Hilariously damaging infrastructure?

On wait, electric cars still do all that. Replacing cars with cars is status quo, not the future.
