Placing every drawn line or every chosen word with deliberate care when creating art, visual or literary, is something AI prompters using their IP-exploiting roulette wheels simply do not understand.
November 18, 2025 at 4:35 AM
One of the many reasons why I would never use generative AI in my creative works, including literary art (mostly poetry nowadays) is because I'd have to be so damned specific and detailed with my prompts that I might as well just draw or write the bloody thing myself!

Added one more couplet ("love soars; love falls.") to the poem I penned earlier today, "The Duality of Love", and rendered a background image for it using GIMP.
Both poem and design seem simple, but I think there's great truth in such simplicity.

>"You MUST adopt AI or be left behind!"<

Actually, when talking visual art, in a world flooded with similar-looking AI-generated images, I suspect human-made uniqueness will stand out. Furthermore, I bet there will always be human customers who will appreciate human-made art.

Here's an item in my Azure Lion Productions Zazzle Store that could use a little more love and attention — a keychain featuring my illustration of "The Lambton Worm".

Re-posting to boost the signal regarding this post about whether or not I should re-publish my speculative poetry collection.
Is there any interest at all in seeing my currently out-of-print speculative poetry collection re-published through Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing, or should it remain out-of-print?

I will admit, even if I did re-publish the collection, I'm unlikely to promote it.

Recently, some AI bro (or bot) tried to suggest that a work like my "Black Cat Face" isn't actually art and doesn't actually make me an artist.

What say you, BlueSky hivemind? Is this work art? Am I an artist?

I say IT IS ART and I AM AN ARTIST!

The public has been buying my art, or items featuring my art, since 1999.
The public has been purchasing PoD items featuring my art through my own stores since 2010 (before that, sold some items through a store run by an editor/publisher).
Doubt folks will stop buying due to AI.

You have no fucking clue!

Hey, shithead, I'm self-employed. I'm certainly not firing myself!

I agree, these prompters prove over and over again that they have little understanding of craft and skill. It's true — they'd be NOTHING without human creators, without the massive exploitation of human-made IPs.

I have no need to use generative AI, so I do not use generative AI.

As a matter of fact, my sales are a bit UP this year compared to last year, which suggests my customers appreciate my "horse and buggy" art.

Honestly, the backlash against AI works for trad artists like me.

>"There's no nobility in poverty."<

I mean, yeah, it sucked for someone like Edgar Allan Poe that he died impoverished, but that in no way dims his brilliance as a writer and poet. The one is not a direct reflection of the other.

The Duality of Love

Love heals;
Love hurts.
Love soothes;
Love stings.
Love calms;
Love riles.
Love mends;
Love breaks.
Love melds;
Love splits.
Love flows;
Love ebbs.
Love lives;
Love dies.

Had to use my credit card to purchase another CD player because the one I'd purchased 4 yrs ago to replace one I had for 20 yrs started skipping while playing. Wasn't the discs — they'd play fine in another, cheaper player.

I'm sick of things not lasting as long as they used to.

Ya gotta love the absolute ignorance of AI bros who seem to think that human artists not using AI will never actually improve their art.

What a bunch of effing BS!
November 17, 2025 at 6:29 PM
With my 2D line art for items in my stores, I've developed an art style that many viewers have called "unique". That uniqueness has become part of my "brand".

I'm not about to destroy the uniqueness of my brand by using AI to generate generic images far removed from my style.
