People like to defend managers/coaches who consistently fail to bring desired results by saying that it’s all on the underperforming players, there’s nothing a manager can do.
Some of it is, sure. But a good manager sets their team up to be successful with their decisions.

If the team’s manager can be praised for backing into the postseason and making an incredible run out of it, why can’t the same manager be held accountable when a team with greater talent underperforms almost every night?
