also if u experience multiple theriotypes or these ones specifically i hope this thread has helped u untangle some of those differences between these animals. i'd love to talk more about these things so feel free to start a conversation or dm :3

I bring up how i relate differently to these animals to show that there are many ways one can have therian feelings. There's no right or wrong way to have these ties to animality & not relating to others' experiences doesn't make u less real. Therianthropy is a catchall & should be somewhat vauge

i notice the traits of coyote within me but don't often shift into the animal or call it up into my being, i have spoken to the coyote within myself but it is distant. I still feel a strong connection to coyote tho & I would call myself a Dedicant of Coyote or perhaps Coyotehearted.

Coyote has shown me how to revel in life & open up to the fullness of a moment, a way to actively engage with what's happening & enliven it. I've done this through song, dance, storytelling & sexuality especially. incorporating that kind of openness into my daily life is a longer process tho

Much of my work with coyote has been in a form of deification through "capital c Coyote". This is a sort of catch all for various coyote deities and the egregor of coyotes as a cultural construct. I have communicated with Fox & Wolf in this way but not on the level i have with Coyote.

The coyote has shaken things up lately, at first mingling with the wolf and the fox in ways hard to parse. Much of coyote's energy can be seen as halfway between fox & wolf in some regards. it's playful, socially driven, creative & sensual but i'm seeing how it manifests distinctly from the others

I feel the wolf unfathomably deep within my soul, unlike the fox which is much more on the surface & accessible. It feels like i may spend my whole life working integrate it fully, something i am called to but am not currently.
I would call myself a Wolf Shifter, tho there may be a better term

there is a deep need within the wolf to care for my loved ones & protect the land i call home, both things i'm in a bad position to practically help. there is a dark brooding rage from all the pain the land & our people have been through, how far we've strayed from oneness with nature & eachother

integrating the wolf has been very difficult, i have a lot of family trauma still tied up in the feelings the wolf brings me. the longing for pack bonds is very strong & while i do have pack now, some of the relationships lack security & i'm afraid of trying to be closer than they are ready for

The wolf has come back to me as a protective force primarily, often existing in my peripheral as an etherial gaurdian. i often experience the wolf externally, something i communicate with & get advice from. i took this to be a headmate relationship until this year when she asked to be part of me

I see the fox as playful with a sense of wonder & beauty in the world. It's soft, sensitive & emotionally open. sometimes my fox holds my hurt & trauma, it often needs the most soothing and protection. it often wants to run away when in a difficult situation & can feel hunted by oppressors at times

Fox is very integrated with my personality now, i don't have to really think about being fox anymore, it's just who i am at my default. I do have fox shifts but i flow in and out of them very easily.
I often call myself a fox therian, as that term most aligns with my experience of that animal

after coming back to therianthropy a few years ago the first animal i came to was the Fox. the fox is said to be a gateway to shapeshifting work & i definitely experienced this aspect, having very powerful yet controlled shifts for a while. it helped reopen a lot of abandoned pathways within myself

When i was a teen, i was a wolf. I struggled a lot with feelings of neglect & loneliness and the wolf brought a longing for pack i couldn't fulfill. i eventually gave up on trying to be a wolf and ignored my therianthropy for years (more on that here: bsky.app/profile/axyl...)
