they gave a moderate extension to a coach who has shown improvement each year, genuinely seems to want to be here, and who is generally well liked, instead of fighting over the scraps of a hiring cycle controlled by the whims of lane fucking kiffin and florida

i'm fine with that!

listen i don't know how the extension will age (neither does anyone else!) and maybe they could have held onto rhule without it, especially given what has happened since then, but i do know that nebraska does not have the cholesterol right now to be out in this particular coaching cycle

yeah, you can clearly see the steps they're taking to improve step by step. but each time this happens it just feels like all of those previous steps are getting obliterated and you have to hope you can pick up the pieces, and i don't love that feeling!

winning games on the road is always hard, but it shouldn't be THIS hard! especially because they have managed wins against bad teams and at neutral sites this season. some of it can be attributed to an overall young team, but there's clearly something more there too.
November 23, 2025 at 1:56 AM
exactly! take some of that new money and give it to the best linemen you can find and that fixes a number of things that have plagued the team this year repeatedly.

but it won't fix this thing where their souls break as soon as they play a half decent team with any stakes while wearing white.
November 23, 2025 at 1:56 AM
their two home losses are by one score each against ranked teams, one in which they lost their starting qb, and the two road losses (presumably) are just complete embarrassments by mid-to-bad teams. you have to figure this shit out at some point because it SUCKS.

did they still suck? were there still mistakes? yes and yes. but they were just normal football losses. and there genuinely haven't been very many of those in almost a decade. almost every one of their losses in that time involved an element of dick shooting.
November 9, 2025 at 5:56 AM
i was talking about this with my dad yesterday, because it's something i've really thought about this year. every one of nebraska's losses so far have just been normal football losses. they weren't back breaking curse losses where they shot themselves in the dick repeatedly OR just got crushed.
November 9, 2025 at 5:56 AM
they may, particularly because of dr's injury (although lateef looked goooood when they actually schemed for him), end up with the exact same record, but they have improved in many ways and have a LOT to build off too
November 9, 2025 at 5:32 AM
you have to be simply ridiculous to win the heisman as a rb anymore, especially on an okay team, but he should be on more watchlists there too
November 9, 2025 at 4:18 AM
if he's not on the doak walker list under serious consideration to win, that's a joke
