Lost the plot, taking a break to get some things done and recorded. In the meantime does anyone understand Early New High German? I bet this is fun
I cant adequately describe this but it's an illustration appearing to be from the 1600s (both 1630 and 1618 are listed) showing a tower with seven windows arranged vertically and a different gentleman gesticulating in each with labels for each window and the tower itself in german (which I do not speak). Outside of this are 12 courtly-seeming figures arranged in a sort of circle each with a little word scroll (the proto-speechbubble) also in german. All of this is surrounded by a circle in which the roman numerals I - XII are listed twice at regular intervals and this circle itself is being traversed on the exterior by 4 men in crowns. There is other stuff

Spent Super Bowl Sunday wandering the conservatory misidentifying clearly labeled plants and saying “could imagine enjoying THAT in a hallucinatory reverie” a lot
Big ol Bird of Paradise (strelitzia nicolai?) in an enclosed greenhouse among some other foliage. Looks to be about 30 feet tall. Long stalks with human-sized leaves at the top Seussian and well-named Red Powderpuff Tree (calliandra haematocephala fabaceae). Flowers look like the hair on those troll dolls from the 80s. Extremely bright and tufty The Texas nipple cactus (mammillaria prolifera cactaceae), if your nipples looked like this it would be indicative of an underlying issue. They’re clusters of lil cactus guys with small red flowers on them amongst some gravel Unlabeled small squidlike cacti in pretty shades of orange/purple/green
