I think that distinction is nice on paper and doesn’t really work when you try to apply it in the real world. Which white Americans are Americans for example? Settlers should move into Israel proper but I’d rather make that argument politically and morally. Not metaphysically.

Ah. So this is not really a question of liberal rights. It’s a question of indigeneity. I think that’s an incredibly unfruitful road to go down. If only because that’s the settler claim about the land.

I don’t know. Do I get to return to mine given that my grandmother was seventh generation in Palestine and survived the 1929 Hebron massacre? Or the Jews of North Africa and the Arabs peninsula? More seriously, at scale, no. This doesn’t get solved by generational repatriation.

Because they seem to think it matters very much to who they are as do the people persecuting them. 🤷♂️ Why should Palestinians think of themselves as Palestinians and demand a state? I don’t know but they do. The human animal is strange.

Gaza and the WB are non contiguous. There have been solutions for that in previous negotiations that Palestinians deemed acceptable.

I think whatever barriers for equality you’d have to remove to achieve it in a two state reality are much higher in a one state reality. But at this point it’s a pragmatic argument. Not a moral one anymore.

Alongside a Palestinian state. Yes. I think a one state solution will be neither safe nor democratic.

I don’t think so. I’m not saying ZM is a bad person who is always bad because he’s anti Zionist or that criticizing settlements is bad. I’m saying this statement was bad given all of this.
