Todays #RetroTech

Hip-Pocket Records 1967-69

4” 45rpm, double sided, kinda like a thick FlexiDisc

Manufactured by Philco. Less than 50 titles were released. Sold in Woolworths & bizarrely, Ford Dealerships for 69 cents

Mercury & Atlantic released most titles. Think this is a full set

I’m all for hanging oddities on your Christmas Tree that mean something to you, something unusual

But, £900 for a set of Elton John Glass Ornaments…..

Guess Reg needs the cash

Don’t normally look at the books in Chazzas, had a feeling in me water

Philips CD-I Production Handbook, 1991

Despite its claim, no way could you knock up a Disc. It’s a basic overview of how some Discs are structured

Chapters on FMV, Mastering, Spec, Memory Requirements, Game Structure etc

As it was the early 70s, there had to be Swingers involved too 😉

The Famous Thrupple

We all loved Jane, let’s be honest. Thou Rod & Freddie loved her more, sometimes on rotation….

I’m thinking the Video Cartridge would have been 2” & therefore an RCA TCR-100?

I got a couple of the Carts. It was a huge beast of a machine

And as if by magic!

On the last episode of @webuyrecords.bsky.social I talked with Tim about some Format Tat, Inc (s)Hit Clips & YaBoom Keychains

YaBoom also put the exact same tech in Singing Dolls. Oh yes, they really did

Here’s the very page from Woolies 2000 Xmas

Tis’ #TapeBoxTuesday

Something those of us of a ‘certain age’ will remember

EMI Soundhog Compact Cassette

Bright orange case, with snap shut / press to open catch. No In-Lay card, as it wouldn’t be seen thru the case
