If you have 100 litres of toxic waste and dump 40 litres of it in a river you cleaned up the river by 20 litres of toxic waste - just that with CO2-Emissions people are not getting ridiculed for exactly that.

It's a tool in the end, and like all tools it can be done for good or bad, the universality of potential applications (no matter if it's a good/suited or bad/unsuited application) is a gigantic difference to other tools though.

AI also can even make non-AI content more costly as you need to verify things which you didn't need before. Even for non-malicious stuff, the ease of generating things can and in many circumstances does increase the cost of consuming things.

Right Wing Parties with their 20-30% voting share are not a danger in itself, they need coalitions - so rather than trying to change the 20-30% voting share - making those coalitions too costly might be more promising.

"What are your favourite examples of mainstream parties successfully fighting right-wing populists?" I'm honestly a bit more optimistic not because of a recent successful fight of mainstream parties but of the *unsucessful cooperation* of mainstream a center-right mainstream party with a RWP in NL.

here some more info about the Preussischer AT7, sadly couldn't find a real picture of it. (and wikipedia entry is only in german) de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preu%C3...

Danke!

How do you get from this to "an Unvaccinated, naïve individual wearing an N95 will still get infected with Measels in short time" ... maybe you are the one who is the one who likes to misinterpret texts. It's like claiming hard hats don't work because people are recommended to wear safety shoes.

Especially in such a prominent position in the last paragraph named "Conclusion and future directions" , and not just as an aside somehwere in the middle.

So if it is about that, why do they even include that part about RCTs? If it's not about RCTs why would they add a sentence about RCTs, what's the purpose of it.
November 18, 2025 at 7:40 AM
Given the context of the sentence before where they call RCTs "strong study designs"* I don't think that's a misinterpretation.

*without discussing how to avoid SUTVA Violations in studies involving infectious diseaes, which are typical for almost all RCTs (even cluster RCTs to a smaller extent).

"If feasible, conducting more studies during outbreaks of VHFs, or during actual care of EBOD patients, would provide greater insight into outcomes encountered in the real world compared to simulation studies." are you seriously claiming that this isn't a position that more RCTs should be conducted?
November 18, 2025 at 7:30 AM
But lets assume they don‘t mean this, even then they just postulate the superiority of RCTs without any cited proof ( like a Meta-RCT which shows superiority of doing RCTs when it comes to PPE for (lethal) diseases over other methods. And showing this should be the first step before that claim.
November 18, 2025 at 6:44 AM
They say there is a Lack of strong study designs (in which they claim that RCTs are such kind) and then in next say in next sentence that there should be more studies - sure they add a „if feasible“ - but that is still insinuating that RCTs would be a good thing to do.
November 18, 2025 at 6:44 AM
They want do to RCTs… thats not collecting data - that would be observvational studies. RCTs generate data and in this case that would almost certainly violate equipose. How good PPE is can be measured without risking lifes and then validated using observational studies.

They really "want them infected"

"If feasible, conducting more studies during outbreaks of VHFs, or during actual care of EBOD patients, would provide greater insight into outcomes encountered in the real world compared to simulation studies."
November 17, 2025 at 7:10 PM
This part is the most insane: "There is a notable gap in strong study designs (such as randomized controlled trials and studies that involve large numbers of participants), which would produce more robust results and allow for statistical analysis and modelling." (...)
