There are so many clever industry-related panels on the PAX schedule this year that I've made an index! These are my best picks to help anyone who still wants to throw themselves into the fire. There's a little advice sprinkled in for good measure, but I am by no means the expert.
PAX Aus 2025 is just days away, @auralynxian.bsky.social has put together a list of things to do if you're thinking about getting into the industry

I forgot to vote for the Hottest 100 and NISSAN ALTIMA only got 96. I can't live with myself.

was googling darkwebSTREAMER for any coverage we might have missed & noticed that the *entire* search results only contain a minimum of about 1/10th the coverage+articles i know exist, inc major media

which now has me wondering just *how* limited every google search result truly is

💚💛As is tradition, we're cataloguing every game released by Australian and New Zealand developers in 2025 (and beyond)🖤🤍

If you're an Aussie or New Zealand studio working on a game, we'd love to hear about it and add it to the list 😍

If you've enjoyed Cryptmaster, please consider sharing the news. Despite an IGF award, a 95% Steam rating and a free demo, the game has gone mostly unnoticed by both press and players. It's not just a typing game and there may still be people out there who would enjoy it!

Question for games media people: do you enter your work into awards (The Lizzies) if you didn't write much/don't think you wrote anything good that year? Asking for a friend.

Sneaking in at the last minute with a review of Short Trip. This is the only review I wrote this year - a necessary break while I focused on other things - but I'm looking forward to getting back into it next year!

I don't know what to be happier about today: my student loan indexation being reduced or The Witcher 4 trailer. Dreams really do come true.

Someone has probably already said this but one of my favourite things about Bluesky is that clicking your profile picture in the side bar takes you to your profile instead of 'Add an existing account' or 'Log out'. I never got used to that on Satan's newsfeed.

I haven't logged on here for a good while and I've returned today to discover that SO MANY more people who I love to hear from on Xitter are here now. Are we finally going to run away together and live happily ever after?

I need someone to drag me to the media room at #PAXAUS this year. I’ve attended multiple cons at MCEC as media and never set foot in that room. It is a myth to me at this point.

Took a break from my phone this week and realised that my messages, emails & social media all give me a little spike of anxiety when I open them. Those spikes add up over time and I feel so much less overwhelmed without them. So, um, that's good info to have and do nothing with.

For those over here who might have missed it yesterday: I entered my work into the Australian IT Journalism Awards for the first time this year and I’ve somehow made it as a finalist in two categories (alongside some incredibly talented individuals). I guess I’m an award-nominated journalist now?!

The Witcher 3 chicken sandwich is a firm favourite with bandits and townsfolk alike – but how much would it actually cost from Woolworths, Coles and Aldi?
