We’d had to contend with him in the the run up to 2019 and some of us were active in his constituency, so saw him close up. I think ideology, a flawed analysis, and wishful thinking also blinded parts of the party to his evident shortcomings. (The left doesn’t always see its limitations either.)

I know! To promote close-reading, the course is centred on four philosophical texts from witnesses here: Der Fall Wagner, Versuch über Wagner, Musica ficta (Figures de Wagner), and Cinq leçons sur le ‘cas’ Wagner. I have been wondering about Žižek as a surprise witness who turns up in court…
