Yes, almost everything is terrible! But I got recruited at the last minute to be the witness at a tiny wedding. So I stopped at the Donut Hut and made this wedding cake on my way there - and got to celebrate the love of two delightful older gentlemen I'd never met before. Some things are good!
It's a photo of a wedding cake, but the cake is actually 4 donuts stacked on top of each other, alternating chocolate glaze and vanilla glaze to make 4 layers. They're stacked on a paper plate. There are a couple of dark pink rose petals and leaves on the plate as decoration, and one small curl of petals and a leaf arranged in the hole of the top donut. The plate is on a white table top. I look forward to seeing what you turn them into! Here's this week's project for me: ridic poly georgette with lace cowskulls wearing flower crowns I got for super cheap because why would you not want lace skulls wearing flower crowns? Turning it into a boxy floppy top and a long flowy skirt.

Introduced when the darker orange boy was in midlife. My brother fostered a litter and I chose her solely based on his description of her personality. It was not love at first sight, but they were an excellent match.

Needed to avoid doomscrolling today so I am back on my delicate bullshit, making a casual woven T-shirt out of fine silk voile, because what better way to remember enjoy good things than by making them into everyday items.

I had a terrible cake accident. As a result I was forced to make two 2-layer cakes instead of one 3-layer cake and now I have an aviation cocktail cake with fat layers AND a strawberry jam filled birthday cake with thin layers.

My husband just sent me this glamour shot he took of my childhood teddy bear.

In the last couple years they have taken root in our tiny yard as a weed, snaking over from a neighbor down the block. I love them and our middle-of-the-city yard is full of bees, hummingbirds and the occasional dragonfly.

I got interviewed on the local news for this one.
A grey car in a lane of traffic, a male parking enforcement officer is sprawled out and clinging to the hood. The female driver is looking at him with a shocked expression, one hand to her head, the other on the steering wheel. What you can’t see is that she drove at him because she was angry he was giving her a parking ticket and he leapt onto the car to avoid being hit. The man has been clinging to the hood for 2 miles and she’s about to drive onto a freeway on-ramp.
