I would rather have a world where we all trust each other and accept that a few people will take advantage of it than a world where folks have to perform disability constantly in order to get the help they need. Let kids have an extra 30 minutes on the test, jesus fucking christ

One of the hardest things to do in this world is accept that some people are just assholes and you won't actually enact karmic justice on them for their assholery. The best you can do is not make things even harder for non-assholes.

Very few people are lying about needing "emotional support animals," but it's such a blatant spectacle to a person thinking someone is "cheating" it resonates to a much larger panic. For more on this, see the *exactly eleven* trans college athletes across the entire country.

America has a terrible culture of hating the idea that the system is "unfair" to you personally. We hate the idea that anyone "unfairly" has it off easier than you and so you don't care if making everyone's life harder stops that.

The reality is, depending on your metric, there's actually a hell of a lot more people with a disability in this country than you think. They're the largest minority group in America. And like any other social service there's no way to one-size that and yeah, assholes will game it.

Again, it’s so weird how mad KHivers are about the reaction to the “fuck everyone who cares about their relatives being murdered” strategy. They loved that plan during the election! Look how happy they all were about it!

When your favorite voice actor or stand-up comedian says Newsome is a “fighter,” what they mean is he posts a lot of good Trump memes. The folks who use their clout to repost those, not anything about Palestine or healthcare or helping homeless people, yeah, they love this.

To that, if you could ascribe any "mistake" to the Van Epps campaign, it's that he likewise ran as "I'm the Republican." Why wouldn't you do this in a +26 Trump district?
But Trump now has a 43% approval rating. In TENNESSEE. So in a single issue race ("I'm a Republican"), that issue is losing now.

I'm saying that objectively--I don't *personally* think it's good, long term, whenever Democrats win on a "we're not Republicans" platform, because it means they win after promising nothing and then deliver it. But it's absolutely what's happening here.
