My mother worked in a genealogy library, so some of my family can be traced back that far, but certain parts (Eastern European Jews from towns wholly eradicated in pogroms, backwoods hillbilly/Cherokee halfbreeds) will never be traced.
I'm sure that somehow doesn't count as 'Heritage American.'

I'm assuming "Heritage Americans" work like the Daughters of the American Revolution, in that one ancestor is enough.
(But I'm undoubtedly giving them too much credit for actually doing any genealogical research at all, instead of just relying on being white.)

One of the pedants I raised (no idea where they got that from) is now teaching high school, which I feel is sufficient punishment for all the sins he committed growing up.

As far as I know, this is true for all the arts.
I love performing! Making money singing onstage was my dream from my early teens, and I've been able to do it for decades!
But sometimes I'm terrible, and it's frustrating, and I feel like I'm running face first into a wall covered in razor blades.

Grew up in a coastal town that occasionally shows up in the news and prompts me to wonder what the local nazis are up to now, and I'm pretty sure no one there would show up to see this unless it has at least five explosions in it.
