Last night I dreamed that I was out with some people, and someone (a man I didn’t know) picked me up and tried to carry me out of the room to take me away, and everybody in the room just watched? He did give up when I struggled too much, and then it was like nothing ever happened.?

Played cello in a tree for the second year in a row, and it was such a highlight during a strange and scary summer. I wasn’t 100% happy with everything I played, but it was nice to be among the trees and playing for a lovely audience🩵

The 2019 doc about Alien talks about how horror films are often a reflection of societal anxieties of the time, so I think it’s really interesting how much the recent Alien movie and series seem to have really leaned into questions about our trust in synthetic lifeforms and humanity.?

Found out yesterday that the ppl building a whites-only community in Arkansas are led by a guy I went to college with. I never really knew him, but I remember he was there and played horn. I ended up watching a @skynewsrss.bsky.social report about the whole thing, and a couple things struck me:

Right before I turned my light off at 1:30am I looked over and saw a flood of ants *teeming* around my windowsill, and spent the next 30-45min slowing them down enough to kill them and devise a temporary fix for the window frame, and it all really felt like a metaphor for the last 6 months or so

Took a walk to get ice cream at a place I didn’t know; this kid at the counter very conscientiously gives me a FULL RUNDOWN of everything they offer and is also working alongside his dad so now I will be going to this ice cream place every week for the rest of my life for this wholesome vibe
