Which I was sad about, then accepted that this thing I had carried with me had served its purpose and now was moving on to make room for something new in my life. Having the moment of gratitude for it as I tossed the item keeps it in my memory. It’s all about perspective.

It helped my kids feel less anxious about their spills, because they started wanting to help “clean the spot.” Changing your perspective requires intention and practice. Spills and accidents happen - they’re just opportunities to clean up now and save effort later. I have also broken cherished items

When my kids were little they ALWAYS spilled things at every meal. Their dad would get irritated, which caused them to get upset when and spill more. So I learned to respond to a spill with “look at that, it’s time to clean that spot.” I started to see it as a way to help me spot clean regularly and
