As much as I wanted to disbelieve the stories told by the saltier veterans about their time deployed, I could tell that they felt comfortable confiding the awful things they did because soldiers ‘watch out for each other’. We idolized IDF soldiers and wished we could show the same casual brutality.

I don’t remember who said it, but paraphrasing — one of the main components of fascism is ‘the anticipation of loss’. The entire white power structure looked at Obama (as liberal as he was) and panicked themselves into a reactionary frenzy with the idea there’d never be another white man in charge.

As an ex-11B, my experience with American service members has taught me that they are ‘decent people’ only in certain contexts. When it comes to our ‘enemies’, they are every bit as cruel because that is what they are conditioned to be. You’d be surprised what people admit to while drunk in Korea.

My goddamn Ethics professor literally asked us “if Judeo-Christian values aren’t objective, why should I restrain myself and/or fear punishment for crimes?”

But under the current socioeconomic system of capitalism it is required. Once the frontiers are established, you can only invade others to find fresh resources and labor to exploit. Russia IS an imperialist country as is China now. However, the notion Russia controls the US is backward imo.

All imperialist capitalist countries depend on war to function.

When the highest offices of government use positions of power to amass personal fortunes, are we really surprised that state employees would do the same?

Maybe socialist organizations would be more effective if they didn’t have to worry about democrats stabbing them in the back. I seem to remember a certain black revolutionary party in the US, which was properly militant, being condemned for their “violent methods” by demo-crackers and republicans.
