Anyhoo. Got to the part with Barret and Dyne in FFVII Rebirth.
Such a sincere take on the road to Hell being paved with good intentions. Once something's done, it's done, and there's no revenge or justice or even forgiveness that can undo it.

I've moved on to re-playing FFVII Rebirth. It's amazing how much better it is now that I'm refusing to feel obligated to report all my opinions to a largely toxic fandom whose goal posts were installed on a damn slip & slide.

I don't think it's appropriate to assume the worst OR best of people
Either option is a type of pre-judging. It's great to want to meet others with good will, but being kind or polite shouldn't require playing anyone's fool.
Judge *nothing* of intent until there's adequate evidence either way.

To clarify: I don't believe that a depressed mindset is fundamentally correct. It may reflect some truths about a mind or its environment, but it's far from absolute.
But the *feeling* that it might be can be so overwhelming sometimes.

So not only do I struggle with the present; I look back to when I was more confident or hopeful, and I get the sense I was deceived or delusional, and that I should have known better.
