The ONLY surviving Gullah-Geechee community in Georgia just stopped developers with an 85% vote on Sapelo Island. They protected their language, culture, and ancestral land from gentrification. When Black communities unite, we win. This is power.

ICE does immigration enforcement. THAT'S ALL IT DOES. Anything else, like pulling people over or detaining them or crowd control or ANYTHING other than immigration enforcement is beyond its authority. Let's not forget that.

The news is so crazy I'm over here wondering if I should pay down my credit card balance or just sit on the extra cash. I'm normally really aggressive about debt but if the economy crashes that card ain't gonna matter anyway 😭

Anyone noticed a very disturbing trend in ads lately

Prior to the last 10 years, one of the most constant dominant words in ads were words expressing the concept one way or another of FREEDOM, giving you free time free relaxation, etc

In the last 10 years it’s gone. Instead it’s CONTROL.

This Chevy commercial was iconic. I've never bought one and probably will not but that little snippet of a song lives rent free in my head

Tying property taxes to education funding seems more disgusting the more I think about it. Absolutely insidious structural racism there.

I enjoyed this one. Although I'm begging for a glossary/pronunciation guide! 📚💙
if, in this holiday season, you find yourself reflecting on the experience of going home to your family and discovering for the first or the millionth time that you see the world in fundamentally different and irreconcilable ways, perhaps upsettingly so,

i have a book recommendation for you.

I'm so sick of hearing Texas election takes from non-Texans. Texas has a voter turnout problem. A candidate who is radically different from the people we've had to choose from for the past few decades is exactly what we need to energize nonvoters.

Looking for a new potential church home and my choices include:

- The mega (MAGA?) church with a Boomer pastor
- The one with the pastor married to Shaunie from Basketball Wives
- The one with a homophobic message posted to their YouTube

And y'all wonder why people be home on Sundays!

Airports are the worst part of travel because if it's not the grumpy TSA agents, it's the clueless folks with zero spatial or situational awareness. It's like y'all get to that conveyor belt and become deaf, blind and dumb

The way people have been brainwashed into fawning over AI is crazy. It came up at a work event. Everyone else was so amazed by the possibilities. I didn't start on my "it's destroying the Earth" but, just simply stated that it has major quality issues that are being ignored. Blank stares 🫩

I'm not justifying my consumption of leftovers to nobody. I know my kitchen practices and what my stomach can handle and I've never gotten sick off of food that I or my family cooked so it just is what it is!

You can always tell who wasn't loved on enough as a child. Showing affection is normal and healthy for girls AND boys!
The 3 year old had to come to work with me for a couple hours this morning and i was taking him to potty, he grabbed my hand so of course i was holding it while we walked. one of my male coworkers gon’ say “he a boy, you ain’t gotta hold his hand!”

pls don’t piss me off.

I've come to accept the fact that I'm a cilantro kind of person. The people who like me, love me. The people who don't like me, can't stand my ass 😅 And there's no changing their minds because the things they dislike are my core traits 🤷🏾‍♀️

Ok, so whatever they do to men's pockets so that simply using them doesn't drag your clothing down to the floor, do that to women's pockets as well. Pocket existence isn't enough, we need pocket equity! -Thanks, Mgt

I miss when technology used to be fun.
