We started watching Riot Women tonight, which appealed to Mrs Astro but not me. I just couldn't get over the central conceit that middle aged women forming a rock band was radical in 2025.

The Anchoress at Union Chapel last night, with Roxanne de Bastion on supporting vocals.

She really is phenomenal.

Sabrina is ON the spider beat 🧪🕷️
1: Biggest web found! Cave with more than 100,000 spiders in some sort of co-op housing, 2 species, one of which normally eats the other. But not in the dark cave.

2. The wee spiders using prey to make giant fake spider puppets to scare off predators. So metal.

Hey so Michael Burry (the dude Christian Bale plays in The Big Short) just took out a billion dollar short bet against a few HUGE Ai companies…………

Reminder that he made mega bank betting on the housing market to fail back in 2008. No one believed that was even possible at the time.

It’s not at all clear to me how the BBC can do any kind of serious journalism if its top two bosses can be forced to quit over such an obviously confected scandal. There is no substantive error here. How can the BBC report on Trump, or Farage, or anyone else, in these circumstances?

Feel free to eat pastry and mincemeat at any time of the year. But woe betide the person who has a mince pie before an arbitrary date set by someone on social media.

#Writing I hit 133k words in my WIP. More importantly I wrote a scene today which signalled the end sequence of the book. I reckon I'm within 10k words of the finale.

Watching Ballad of a Small Player. 8 read the book in the 00s. Do I remember that the protagonist Lord Doyle is a heroin user? It's not represented in the film.

While agreeing in the round,
I've found this (below) both reassuring and highlighting of the need for constant vigilance. There is no perfect end state. See if you can see where the 'thousand year reich' occurs (also, that Roman Empire lasted quite a while).
