At the gateway to the Amazon, #COP30 took place as geopolitical tensions continue to rise.

Achieving progress in such uncertain times was never guaranteed. Yes we need to do much more, but COP30 has shown the #ParisAgreement is delivering results.

At #COP30 the Presidencies & Secretariats of the Rio Conventions joined forces to promote integrated action on climate, biodiversity and land.

Synergies are the only way forward. The world needs to take bold steps for progress across the Rio Conventions’ interlinked objectives.

As participants in #COP30 pore over questions around synergies among the Rio Conventions, this topical white paper outlines clear pathways for action: from whole-of-government integrated implementation and finance to harmonized monitoring and reporting.

Synergies make sense.
Synergetic action—restoring mangroves, integrated coastal management, unified monitoring, can deliver wins for climate, nature and land at once.

UNEP’s new white paper shows how countries can align planning, finance and reporting to unlock these benefits: www.unep.org/technical-hi...
