Solomon Sir Jones, who made the film, was a very impressive gent -- influential Baptist minister, businessman, & amateur filmmaker. (His parents had been enslaved.) He made dozens of films. mostly in Oklahoma, but in other states, Europe, & the Middle East as well.

BTW, the clip of the band is by Solomon Sir Jones, who made dozens of films documenting African-American communities in Oklahoma & other states from 1924 to 1928. They show everyday life in Black communities & are immensely valuable historical resources. Learn more, here. 👇🏽
