And that was chapter 7. Such a fun ride. Plowing through everyone using Bass' weapon then getting plowed through by Bass. As said previously, all chapters will now be there own separate threads, so look out for chapter 8. Whenever it happens.

how do I make it work in a world that's already met Duo?

I may not have played Mega Man 7, but I have heard the horror stories of the Wily capsule. I know how tough a foe he is. Put that into a DOOM-esque game, and that sounds like a challenge...

Easiest boss in the game. ...yep. no challenge at all. That's a fun bit of irony.

Super Bass wasn't remotely as hard. Only died to him twice. But the uneven platforms meant I could easily out manoeuvre him. And yeah, I didn't use the Rush adaptor. So you know what comes next...

Bass is easily one of the toughest bosses in the game so far! He's so quick, hits so hard, there's so few healing items. It's brutal!
Though, to my credit, I only died to him six times. The sixth-lowest amount of times I've died to a boss, so that's certainly something.

BONUS: so, I'm retelling this chapter as a rescue mission, yeah? Well, Wily stage 3 has a bunch of cages and Wily stage 2 references the Gamerizer. Sounds like a fun enough conclusion to the rescue mission, so thunderbirds are go!.
Wait, why is the Met locked up?
Okay, onto Bass.

Wily Castle. I love how you can see it look overhead. Apparently Freeze and Spring Man were opponents. I didn't see them. It was a fun clash, but something felt missing. Dunno what, though.

...Turbo man happened too, I guess. Quick Man finally became a competent opponent. Stone Man being there is odd. Stage is cool. That's abouts it.

Also, I didn't get to shoot the red Arremer. No Ghosts 'n Goblins music for me, I guess.

Shade Man. Once I got, you guessed it, the Bass Buster, I became the monster ruling the castle! Though when I only had three kills left, Shadow Man suddenly locked in and became a serious threat. That was fun.

Slash Man's stage. Why wasn't Sniper Joe an opponent here? He's on the stage in the actual 7.
The water once again led to several bots becoming sitting ducks, this time against bees. Plant Man once again didn't fight me and I once again enjoyed wrecking Burner Man. Screw that guy.
April 4, 2025 at 10:30 AM
Spring Man's stage. The bots had no clue how to handle the springs, and if they found themselves on one, they were a sitting duck for my Bass Buster. Such a blast to use.
There's a photo of a Met with a female Met in the stage. Is the Met that keeps opposing us married or something?

Cloud Man's stage is incredible. I love sky levels. Not only that, but I only suffered a single death. Once I got Black Hole, the other bots could only delay the inevitable.
Oh hey, the Met is on an umbrella.
April 4, 2025 at 10:25 AM
Centaur Man once again pulled his disappearing act on Burst man's stage. And poor Toad Man! He suffered the most against my Bass Buster. What a useful weapon (foreshadowing)
April 4, 2025 at 10:24 AM
The Sniper Joe returns! Apparently Magnet Man was on junk man's stage, but I never saw him once. Maybe he got lost.
April 4, 2025 at 10:22 AM
The opening cutscene for Freeze Man's stage is so fun. Seeing him clash with Napalm and Flash Man. Though, why is Blizzard Man here? He's one of Mr X's guys. He should be a good guy again.
