I'm not 100% sure that Cleveland shouldn't just hire Daboll for a couple of reasons.
1. Perhaps it punts the HC search to 2027 when Berry and Watson are potentially gone.
2. Daboll had Tim Kelly on his staff, who was the last OC to get production out of the sexual assault guy (1/2)

I'm not 100% sure that Cleveland shouldn't just hire Daboll for a couple of reasons.
1. Perhaps it punts the HC search to 2027 when Berry and Watson are potentially gone.

I was under the impression that Practice Squads ended after the last game of the RS unless you made the playoffs.

I think there's a couple of teams that should just punt the HC hire this year and hire a Lovie Smith or Frank Reich, then try again next year when their situation is a bit better.

In theory, Steve Spagnuolo is the perfect HC candidate.
He's been a game changer for KC Defense the last half decade, he has HC experience, and he's available NOW bc KC didn't make the playoffs.
