it makes Grievous look like an actual threat and adds more narrative weight to Obi-Wan’s triumph later in the film. as it stands, the supposedly decorated general of the entire CIS army comes off as a pushover (even with the added context of the 2008?TCW series)

if they wanted him to seem menacing, they should’ve added a duel between him and Anakin on the bridge of the Invisible Hand, and have Anakin lose said duel. in this scenario, Ani, even fresh off his defeat of Dooku with his boosted powers, still couldn’t beat Grievous

but then he 1) flees the Battle of Coruscant like a wimp and 2) dies in his duel with Obi-Wan. he has no onscreen feats whatsoever. he’s just a one and done villain in an already convoluted movie stuffed with a lot of characters. Grievous comes off as a generic, underwhelming henchman

this actually made me think of why Grievous didn’t work for a lot of ppl in the prequels. cuz like unless you watched the 2d Clone Wars miniseries, Grievous would’ve been a stranger to you in ROTS. and you’re told, not shown, that he’s slain a lot of Jedi. so he’s supposedly a threat

like imagine it’s TCW. a villain that’s more powerful than padawan Ahsoka isn’t that big a deal. but a villain more powerful than Obi-Wan, a jedi master? that’s something to be afraid of. creates higher stakes for our heroes opposing them

since Benny is still a trainee mage and not too accomplished, a villain surpassing his capabilities doesn’t feel like too much of a threat…. but if we establish the villain being more powerful than Benny’s gma, who’s known to be a very powerful mage, we get an ominously powerful BBEG!

huh you’re right. i suppose the closest there’s ever been to a love triangle was between Vax, Keyleth, and Gilmore. but even with that it was pretty clear who Vax would end up with

i get that it’s more jarring since they started so young and we watched them grow up, but it’s rlly not that big of a deal

def don’t blame him for his original hostile reaction tho. he was kidnapped by a bunch of crazy ppl and taken to a weird ass barn. i’d react the same way 😭

it’s also just insane how much character development they can pack into just one episode. the kid was an asshole but locked tf in as soon as he saw the threat they were all facing. respect!

i’m just curious abt how they’ll break thru the wall. i have a feeling the WSQK radio tower will have something to do with it. and Dustin ofc will be the one to crack the code bc homeboy always is

character enough who give a fuck abt who he ends up with. i honestly care more abt the platonic bond between him and Robin than i do abt any romance

and like when it comes to Byler vs Mileven, i’m basically neutral or anti both of them. i personally am convinced Eleven’s going to die or break up with Mike anyway, so Mileven’s probably toast. as for Byler, it would be cool to have a queer romance between two MC’s, but i don’t care about Will’s
