finally got a bluesky :)
took me long enough
this COULD HAVE been helped had they decided to keep the Shaak Ti deleted scene, but no. GG looks like a total fraud :/
but then he 1) flees the Battle of Coruscant like a wimp and 2) dies in his duel with Obi-Wan. he has no onscreen feats whatsoever. he’s just a one and done villain in an already convoluted movie stuffed with a lot of characters. Grievous comes off as a generic, underwhelming henchman

it makes Grievous look like an actual threat and adds more narrative weight to Obi-Wan’s triumph later in the film. as it stands, the supposedly decorated general of the entire CIS army comes off as a pushover (even with the added context of the 2008?TCW series)

if they wanted him to seem menacing, they should’ve added a duel between him and Anakin on the bridge of the Invisible Hand, and have Anakin lose said duel. in this scenario, Ani, even fresh off his defeat of Dooku with his boosted powers, still couldn’t beat Grievous

this actually made me think of why Grievous didn’t work for a lot of ppl in the prequels. cuz like unless you watched the 2d Clone Wars miniseries, Grievous would’ve been a stranger to you in ROTS. and you’re told, not shown, that he’s slain a lot of Jedi. so he’s supposedly a threat

for a specific example: Count Dooku is very intimidating in TCW because we’ve seen him defeat Anakin and Obi-Wan multiple times. he’s also fended off the likes of Yoda. he commands a lot of gravitas.
like imagine it’s TCW. a villain that’s more powerful than padawan Ahsoka isn’t that big a deal. but a villain more powerful than Obi-Wan, a jedi master? that’s something to be afraid of. creates higher stakes for our heroes opposing them

since Benny is still a trainee mage and not too accomplished, a villain surpassing his capabilities doesn’t feel like too much of a threat…. but if we establish the villain being more powerful than Benny’s gma, who’s known to be a very powerful mage, we get an ominously powerful BBEG!

MBAV actually does a surprisingly good job of setting up its main s2 antagonist! we know they’re a powerful mage who hates vampires just from the first episode. only thing i would’ve done differently is compare their power level to Benny’s gma instead of Benny himself

huh you’re right. i suppose the closest there’s ever been to a love triangle was between Vax, Keyleth, and Gilmore. but even with that it was pretty clear who Vax would end up with
December 11, 2025 at 9:30 PM
i get that it’s more jarring since they started so young and we watched them grow up, but it’s rlly not that big of a deal

ppl complaining abt the Stranger Things kids’ ages baffles me bc Charlie Heaton was 22 y/o in s1 when Jonathan was 16. yall weren’t saying anything then! but now the kids are in their early 20s playing 16 year olds and it’s suddenly a problem??
December 11, 2025 at 6:20 PM
def don’t blame him for his original hostile reaction tho. he was kidnapped by a bunch of crazy ppl and taken to a weird ass barn. i’d react the same way 😭
December 11, 2025 at 12:12 PM
it’s also just insane how much character development they can pack into just one episode. the kid was an asshole but locked tf in as soon as he saw the threat they were all facing. respect!

i’m just curious abt how they’ll break thru the wall. i have a feeling the WSQK radio tower will have something to do with it. and Dustin ofc will be the one to crack the code bc homeboy always is

#StrangerThings season 5 theory: i think that massive flesh wall is merely the end of the Upside Down, and that the Upside Down is just a pocket universe that exists within Dimension X. that’s also where Holly and the rest of the kids are, and where Vecna’s been all along. i’m sure of it

on a more positive Stranger Things note, Derek Turnbow might just be a genius! bc what kind of kid casually builds a model of a tesseract? bro pays attention in class fs!

Critical Role is the exception to this bc the writers (the players and GMs) are fucking goated and so are most of the fans 🤙

and the love triangles are more on the downlow
dude shipping in general fucking sucks and is the worst part of any fandom. like i think Byler will be endgame in Stranger Things, but both Byler and Mileven shippers are so obnoxious and ruin a lot of discussions abt the show. Milevens are worse tho bc a lot of them are homophones
December 11, 2025 at 9:22 AM
character enough who give a fuck abt who he ends up with. i honestly care more abt the platonic bond between him and Robin than i do abt any romance
December 11, 2025 at 9:03 AM
and like when it comes to Byler vs Mileven, i’m basically neutral or anti both of them. i personally am convinced Eleven’s going to die or break up with Mike anyway, so Mileven’s probably toast. as for Byler, it would be cool to have a queer romance between two MC’s, but i don’t care about Will’s
December 11, 2025 at 9:00 AM
The Eleven, Will, Mike love triangle isn’t as toxic in the show bc Eleven and Will aren’t actively fighting each other for Mike’s affection, but the fans make it suck nonetheless!
December 11, 2025 at 8:52 AM
this show’s love triangles has all sucked (except for Max, Lucas, and Dustin bc it lasted only one season and Dustin just moved tf on when Max and Lucas got together). the Jancy vs Stancy clusterfuck is actively harming Steve’s story and it’s pissing me off
