I think the teachers at our crunchy progressive daycare are not allowed to comment on how cute a baby is, so I'll just assume everything they say to me should be interpreted as a tacit acknowledgment that my baby is the cutest. what's that? we're almost out of diaper cream? oh, ok, we'll stock up 😉

one reason I never get anything published is that, when I get notes back from an editor, my instinct is to say "Oh, no, thank you. I was done thinking about that."

there are many ways one could imagine Trump to be acting strategically - oh, X is certainly a distraction from Y, or, hmm, convenient that Z found a way to benefit from the latest chaos - but, realistically, guys. He's a stupid fucking maniac. There is no plan, that's demonstrable 1000x over

Weren't most of the doge douche troops in high school during the pandemic lockdowns? Should've pushed these freaks out of their basements to be bullied instead of leaving them alone to stream increasingly deranged manosphere content for two years
i'm so tired of the "bullied nerds" narrative that exists only to garner sympathy for young men being assholes. i had somebody tell me the DOGE teen criminals currently ripping the copper wiring out of the walls of our government were probably bullied at school and i wanted to spit in their face

My issue with calling the anti-DEI effort "segregation" is that segregation implies the existence of separate, parallel systems, however unequal... And I haven't seen even a cursory nod toward any alternative for minoritized people

The baby met another baby for the first time today, and I don't know what was going through her mind, but she seemed to be just smiling and laughing at the realization that other babies exist
