My gpa was a pacific ww2 pilot. Uncle stationed in Japan. Didn’t tell his parents he married until after wedding but then lived with them on a farm in rural Indiana for 2 years with wife who knew little English. Moved back to Japan and wrote the textbook used to teach English in colleges there. 1/2

The shooting at the ICE facility was minutes from where I work and the kid’s school. Watching the political escalation play out so close to home is unreal.

I don’t know which is worse- the fact that my husband and son got duped into visiting a “science museum” run by fundamentalists, or that my past self was fully immersed in that specific worldview.

An old friend trained under and worked for Cesar Millan. They made a stop in Dallas while on tour and I got to hang out with them before the show. We spent the afternoon chatting about how our lives were different than how we grew up while Junior was under my feet whining to play.

Toddler found a sharpie and drew on his face (accidental Jack skeleton vibes). Went to start him a bath and couldn’t find the new bath soap anywhere. Turns out the empty bottle we found was not the old one. Julia Roberts would be jealous.

I’m grown accustomed to the specialty car dealer using the remote street outside my window to test drive their collection of Porsche 911s. What I didn’t expect was someone test driving a horse.

Y’ALL!!! My husband hid about 20 Easter eggs WITH CHOCOLATE in our front yard and left them unattended for 10 MINUTES. In that time every egg left exposed was open and empty and a crow was caught leaving the scene. Are we responsible for the murder of a Murder?

If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.

When I was a kid, abandoned to the circumstances I was born into, I learned it’s enough to do what you believe is right for as long as you can. The fantasy of being saved or becoming a savior burns up like dry leaves, but solid values pertaining to everyone’s humanity is creeping fire. It lasts.
